Describe an argument two of your friends had?

You should say:

  • When it happened
  • What it was about
  • How it was solved
  • How did you feel about it?

Sample Answer 1:

I would like to talk about a silly argument that two of my friends had. It happened in the mid of April. I was studying in my room, and my roommates started arguing with each other. Raavi and John are not just my roomies but also my best friends. We did our schooling together, and now we are studying at the same university.

The argument was about dinner, and both of them did not want to prepare the meal. Due to this, both started arguing about the rules. Raavi was saying to John that I made the breakfast. Therefore, it is your turn to prepare the dinner. On the other side, John insisted that you just roasted the pieces of bread in a toaster and nothing more than that. So, he denied cooking the meal.

Eventually, I intervene and calm them down by saying I will cook the dinner. Usually, I do not prepare the food as I have the responsibility of cleaning the room and utensils. That’s how I resolved the issue. They shamelessly had the dinner and laughed at my face.

I felt terrible because of their insane argument. I also warned both that if such a foolish conversation happens again, I will leave the room. Frankly speaking, Raavi and John are pretty stubborn, and I am 100% sure they will repeat this again.

Sample Answer 2:

I would like to talk about an argument that happened between my friends. Last month my two friends and I planned to meet after a long time. Then we got together in my home, and we started to talk about different topics, and in between the talk, my friends Rup and Bhaw started to talk about politics.

Rup felt that we should get involved in politics and serve the country. Whereas, Bhaw sees politics as a nasty and dirty game. She said the one who goes into it becomes the same. They both expressed their own opinions on it, but after 15 minutes, their talk converted into a heated argument. They both shouted at each other that made the atmosphere tense.

Finally, I interrupted their argument and tried to make them understand that we cannot do anything about it. After half an hour, both calm down and apologize to each other.

To be honest, it wasn’t new for me because this kind of argument always keeps on happening between my friends. That’s why I took the matter very lightly and forget about the disagreement they had.

You know, arguments have become a kind of part of our life, and it doesn’t matter to the people whether it is between elders, youngsters or children. Everyone just wants to win the argument.

Thank you!
