Sample Answer:
Well, I would like to tell you about that skill which I learnt almost ten years ago after finishing my computer engineering. It is web designing and development. I learnt this skill from a local institute. My instructor was an intelligent lady, and she taught me with full zeal.
However, at the institute, I just learned theoretical things, not real-world problems. It was the year 2011 when I joined my first job as a trainee programmer. Therefore, I would say I became an expert when I got the chance to interact with real-world problems. For example, I got my first project in which I had to redevelop a baby food website. The reason behind the redevelopment of that website was its poor performance.
Nowadays, I am at the senior level in the company, and I train interns. I have developed a plan to teach them practically. I give less importance to theoretical things because learners learn a lot of academics at their college level. Hence, I give them assignments to do, and I allow them complete freedom to finish the job. I encourage them to use Google and YouTube to achieve the target because I believe in research and development. By finding the solutions to their problems, they become more logical. If someone wants to be a smart programmer, he/she would need to work on his/her insightful abilities. Research improves the cognitive potential of programmers.
I enjoy my work because coding is my passion. That’s why I learned this skill. I help people to convert their imaginations to automated websites. For example, recently, I have developed a website called likhayi.com for a client who wanted to write his native language using English alphabets.
Thank you!
Follow-up questions of the topic: Describe a skill that you can teach other people
1. Should teachers be funny when they teach?
Yes, if the teacher is humorous, the students will take more interest in attending the class. They do not get bored by the lectures of a funny teacher. As a result, they will learn more.
2. What qualities should teachers have?
First of all, the teacher must have a tremendous patience level. Secondly, they must believe in equity more than equality when it comes to teaching in a class because some students are quick learners, and some are not. Therefore, teachers must be ready to use a tailored approach while teaching.
3. Which do you think are more important practical skills or academic skills?
No doubt, practical skills are much more important than academic skills. However, one cannot become a good writer without learning the basics of a language.
4. Which age group is the best age for learning?
I believe age does not matter when someone has strong will power to learn something. For example, my mom is 55 years old, and she had learnt car driving at 51. She became an excellent driver because of her strong desire to learn driving.
