Well, there are a plethora of things which need to improve in my locality and one of them is safety. Sometimes I feel scared at home when I am alone. We live in the countryside. The onus is on the shoulders of authorises to deploy police patrolling in our area. Moreover, it would be conducive for us if close circuit cameras could be installed in the streets. Last week, a 35-year-old woman was allegedly strangled to death by four armed robbers at her home near my residence. There was no video surveillance now it is quite difficult for the police to find the culprits.
Furthermore, women don’t feel safe while commuting from their workplaces to homes and vice versa. In another incident, money was stolen by some thief from the pocket of a woman on a bus. I have seen in my countries their governments have installed security cameras on the buses too. If the local administration takes some precautionary measures to handle these serious matters, it would be great.
I believe safety & security is the primary problem in my area which would reduce the crime rate. As a result, women will feel safer while travelling, and elderlies can live in their homes without any fear.
