There are several reasons for this trend. Boys choose science because they are much more interested to know the theories behind automation and mechanical devices. Owing to this, they take science so they can become an automobile engineer or an astronaut. Resultantly, to fulfil their dreams, they dive into the world of science. For example, research conducted by the professors of a prominent university in which they asked a question to 1000 schoolboys and out of 1000 boys more than 700 wanted to become an engineer and less than 100 wanted to pursue their career as an artist. However, when the same question asked to the girls, the majority of them rejected the engineering field and instead more than 50 per cent wanted to become a fashion designer, and 30% wanted to be a doctor. It is an undeniable fact that girls are more creative than boys. Therefore, girls are highly enthusiastic in subjects like arts.
This view needs to change for both the boys and girls. Therefore, male pupils need to try arts, whereas female students should try their hands-on science. Once the trend starts changing, it would bring more innovative ideas on the table. By giving examples, parents and teachers can encourage the students to go beyond the ordinary choices. As a result, students would desire to be like extraordinary personalities, and it might stimulate them to change their choice of the subject during their school as well as university studies.
