Well, I would love to tell you about an interesting conversation, which I had with a famous personality in the world of botany. I met a professor almost a year ago when I was travelling to Jaipur from Mumbai in an Air India’s domestic flight. Fortunately, I got my seat adjacent to Mr Joseph, a very well know author of Botany. I was a stranger to him, but he was not for me because I had read countless articles written on his biography in the magazine of science genres.
In the starting of the conversation, I was a bit shy to say hello to him. However, within a few minutes, I became pretty comfortable with him because of his kind and amiable nature. I told him that I am one of the biggest fans of his writings, and I read his books to complete my PhD thesis.
What we talked about
Our flight took almost 2 hours to reach Jaipur. During this time, we had a real good discussion on the topic of the corolla. Corrolla is a part of the flower, and it is a remarkably vast topic of discussion in Botany. While we were talking, he started explaining everything with examples. He made an artificial flower from a tissue paper to explain the matter practically. I would say he is a genius and, absolutely down to the earth. The conversation was so enjoyable that we did not realize that we had already reached into the airspace of Jaipur. We noticed it when the captain announced to buckle up because the plane was about to land. That’s how I had an interesting conversation.
