Sugar increases the risk of obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. Therefore, people need to understand the adverse effects of sugar on health even without the interference of the government. They can do this by avoiding it as much as they can. Even World Health Organisation recommends a maximum of 5 to 10 teaspoons of sugars per day.
On the other hand, governments can start awareness campaigns to educate people by making ad films.

I think it is the primary duty of the government to take care of the progressive works because they collect a large amount from the public taxes. They can build public hospitals, schools, and roads from taxes. As a result, people would not suffer due to the lack of infrastructure. For example, when people buy products or use services, they pay including all the indirect taxes. Apart from that, every year, people also pay direct taxes on the income they have generated. Hence, citizens pay a lot to the government already in the form of direct and indirect taxes, so they deserve the right to live a comfortable life.
I agree with the idea of taking necessary precautions rather than expecting a cure that requires a large amount of money for research and development. Undeveloped and developing nations can’t afford such extensive pressure on their pocket. For example, the US, Russia, and the UK have developed vaccinations to handle the devastating situation of Covid-19, but other economically weaker nations don’t have enough vaccination to protect their citizens. Therefore, the only feasible way for them is the prevention of the disease by wearing masks rather than waiting for the cure.
