Sample Answer:

Well, I would like to tell you about a time when I was in a meat shop around nine years ago. I guess it was the month of September of the year 2012. I went there to buy chicken with my friend.

The moment we entered the shop, I heard the sounds of a crying chicken. As soon as I turned my back towards the right side of the cash counter, I saw a butcher. The butcher had grabbed the neck of a chicken and chopped it with his cleaver. The pain and crying sounds of chicken made me imagine the intensity of pain which it was feeling. There was no tear in my eyes, but my heart was crying loudly.

It was difficult for me to put myself in its position. All I was thinking about that poor little thing which wanted to live longer as most of us want. One needs the ability to understand the feelings of another soul. My friend did not feel anything when I asked him what I felt. He said I might be an empath. I do not know whether I am an empath or not, but I understood the level of pain that chicken had gone through. Even that day, I realized they also have families. I mean, we even do not think before eating them.

I became depressed because of my vision, and I decided that I will never eat any variety of flesh. Now I am trying to become a vegan, but it is hard for me to give up dairy products, especially yoghurt.

Thank you

Follow-ups question of the topic “Describe a time when you needed to use your imagination”

1. Do you think adults can have lots of imagination?

Yes, they can imagine what they want. I believe age has nothing to do with imagination. Imagination is of several types, for example, Strategic, Emotional, Dreams, Empathy etc. It all depends on the person who he/she is, adult or juvenile.

2. Do you think imagination is necessary for scientists?

I believe, without the imagination, it is almost impossible for anyone to develop anything. For example, scientists who are investigating life on other planets have imagined first then started their work.

3. What kind of jobs need imagination?

There are a plethora of jobs which need imagination, but I will talk about just two now. First of all, an artist who paints on canvas. He/She needs to imagine before moving their brush. Second, a software engineer who develops software imagines how the software users will interact with the tool.

4. What subjects are helpful for people’s imagination?

Imagination is a creative thing. It is difficult for me to say much on this question because my vision did not come from books or movies. I believe it is our consciousness which triggers the ability to imagine something. Everyone has the capability of imagining things. The only difference is that some use this ability and others do not.
