Sample Answer:

Well, I would love to share a time when I spoke a foreign language for the first time. I was at the Tehran University last month. I went to Iran to explore and research to know the similarities between the Punjabi and the Farsi(Persian) language. Both the languages are from the Indo-Iranian family.

It was a beautiful place. I went there with my friend from Toronto. We were on the mission to find a professor of the Farsi language, and we wanted to know about the origin of this language. There are many words in Punjabi that are also in the Farsi language.

Finally, we found the professor and talked with him. Even though he knew English, I still tried to impress the professor with my broken Farsi. Thanks to Google translate, it saved me at several points. I asked him a few questions, and luckily, I got my answers. I also told him that the ‘Panjab‘ word is formed with two words of the Persian language, and these two words are Panj and Ab. Panj means five, and Ab stands for water. Thus it signifies the land of five rivers. He was astonished to know about it.

I felt pretty great after interacting with the professor. Moreover, I got the chance to talk with someone in Farsi for the first time in my life. I am a quick learner, and I learned Farsi from the internet. I am still at the beginner stage, but I know I will improve myself because I have also made a few friends at the Tehran Uni. They promised me that they will help me to correct my mistakes.

Thanks!
