Describe a piece of advice you received on your subjects or work

You should say:

  • Who advised you
  • What advice did he give
  • Are you happy with the advice

Sample Answer:

Well, I have received a piece of advice from my colleague almost a year ago. He was the team leader, and he used to guide all of the team members so we could work effectively and efficiently. In my last company, we had many clients across the world. I was working there as a senior programmer, and my main job was to develop web-based applications. Even though I was not the project manager, yet I needed to communicate electronically with our clients, especially from South America. Sometimes it was becoming quite tedious to work due to poor communication as I didn’t know the Spanish language back then. Almost all of the nations speak Spanish except Brazil in this continent.

What advice did he give

Owing to this, my boss Mr Alin advised me to learn Spanish so I can communicate with my clients flawlessly. I followed his wise advice and joined Spanish speaking language class after my working hours. Today, I can write and speak up to the intermediate level. It was a difficult task to learn an international language which has not even spoken in my own country.

Are you happy with the advice

I believe I made no mistake by learning one of the most spoken languages in the world. I am glad, and I feel more confident and clear when I communicate with my client. They are highly satisfied with my performance due to which I also got a promotion at my workplace almost two months ago. I am earning more than before. I would say this piece of advice of Alin helped me to achieve what I always wanted to accomplish the goal to become the project manager.

Thank you!
